How does the ideal school contribute to a lower stress level in everyday student life?
While there is no perfect school, there is the possibility that your school could be one that contributes to lower stress levels for students. While this does not translate into lower standards, it does help them to achieve higher academically, socially, and emotionally.
By providing a safe space for children to explore, ask questions, and to experiment, and by not bogging them down with too much work to do outside of class, a school can encourage a child to develop their entire selves, including their interests away from the classroom.
When teachers encourage students to respect one another, and the school promotes a feeling of family and community, students’ stress level about school can be decreased.
